In a letter dated June 15, 1931 (image below) from Vicente Huidobro to Joaquín Torres-García referring to this painting which the artist had gifted him: “mientras más miro su cuadro aquí en mi pared, más me enamoro de él y más se lo agradezco.” Translation: “the more that I look at your painting here on my wall, the more I fall in love with it and the more I thank you for it.”
